I must admit, growing one's own food has been more rewarding than I anticipated. I have found so much solace in coming home to care for the tomatoes (3 varieties), corn, zuchini (2 varieties), squash, eggplant, romaine, green and red peppers, lavender, strawberries and cucumber. Seeing the garden grow has been something else... as this is the first time I can think of that something I planted has really flourished. I just wish I had more land.
