There are those among us, and you know who you are, who hear rap music and think to themselves, "you call that music?" But, what they all fail to see is the poetry obscured by the ultra-urban, ultra-hip idioms and slang. But, there is hope for them yet, as someone out there has stumbled upon a way to translate Hip Hop into more traditional prose, into a form that may help us all see the artistry that is "rap."

Of course, I say all this without the slighest hint of irony at the fact that I am probably one of the least-"hip" people out there. Seriously.

yea word, hip hop isnt rap... and who cares if cats say " You call that Music ", we say the same things about other audio entertainment mediums... Those that say hip hop isnt music, are not intune with what the beat of nature is... nowadays, Rap has accosted the airwaves, like my man said rap isnt hip hop and some rap isnt music... but if you listen to nature in any area of the world, you will hear a beat, at least in the places not profoundly effected by industrialism, and that beat is hip hop... it might not be music, but it is the audio blood of our lives...
