My <a href="http://www.hairyalien.com/">wife</a> and I this weekend <a href="http://www.hairyalien.com/archives/2004_06.html#000393">went to go see</a> <a href="http://www.fahrenheit911.com/about/">Fahrenheit 9/11</a>. At the end of it, I was speechless.<br /><br />
All I could think about was the fact that at one point I actually gave the Bush administration the <a href="http://www.majordojo.com/archives/2003_07.php#000026">benefit of the doubt</a>. In fact, I even remember <i>defending</i> the Bush administration in some circumstances. And I consider myself a liberal. Honestly, I do.<br /><br />
Why did I, a relatively critical thinker, not seriously scrutinize something as important as going to war? Why did I let myself be lied to? What happened?<br /><br />
At this point, these questions are largely rhetorical for me. But most of America hasn't even gotten to the point where they can ask themselves these questions, much less get to a point where they even know the right questions to ask.<br /><br />

Don't be afraid of knowing more simply because you are afraid of what you might learn. Knowledge is power. <a href="http://www.fahrenheit911.com/">See this movie</a>, and <a href="http://www.fec.gov/votregis/vr.htm">vote</a>.<br /><br />]]>
