Busy, busy, busy...

Life has been pretty hectic recently. I am getting to the point where I feel like my head will explode. I love writing software, but I never really consider the commitment I am making when I actually produce a piece of software. Now for a while I was able to keep up with the barrage of support requests on BookQueueToo and QuickLink, but it got a little overwhelming, so I took a break. I let things pile up for a bit. And now I am scared to get back into the game. Especially when so many of my projects are suffering. How can I justify working on BQT when SOAP::Lite for example is virtually stagnant (again), and all I need to do is package up a tarball and publish the sucker. When I have been slow to progress on GoHire. When my poor Perl and PHP Salesforce toolkit users are completely neglected, even when I said I would help them out whenever they asked. And the list goes on. For now, all I can do is mention to those who use my software that you must be patient. Open source software ain't all its cracked up to be when you have so many demands on your time, and you are not being paid to make it your living. Alas. And for those of you who are wondering why this blog has become bereft of posts: I am posting to my relatively new, and slightly more personal weblog hosted by TypePad.
