I should blog everything my wife tells me...

I swear to god, about once a day my wife says something so absolutely perfect at the time that I tell her in my oh-so-nerdy-way, "you have to blog that."

She never does. So I will do my best to share with the two readers I have (hello Dori, hello Debi) the things that I think Arin should blog, but know she never will.

To kick off this series (knock on wood), is a joke she shared with me.

Question: How many Bush Adminstration officials does it take to replace a lightbulb?

Answer: There is nothing wrong with the lightbulb. The lightbulb works just fine, and moreover it is getting brighter every day. And those who would suggest otherwise are supporting the forces of darkness.

The folklorist in me requires me to document other variants on this joke that I have found. Including the following: 1, 2, 3, and 4.

Of course I am sure that if you stick purely to the oral tradition you will find many more examples, but thanks to the blasted Internet (insert an Alan Dundes rant about Fakelore here) it is difficult for me to find too many variations simply by using Google.

Light bulbs are all fine around here and if they should flicker, they never deny doing it; they take full responsibility for it and do their best to make things brighter.

Remind Arin about the 'No blog left behind act' in this state.

Here in Brazil we could say something similar related to our National Leader and Inspirer ;-)
