Implementing James Snell's Atom Thread Extension

James Snell authored an Atom extension that provides a way of syndicating not only a weblog’s posts, but all of the comments belonging to a weblog as well. The extension is called the Feed Thread Extension and has been implemented on the blog you are reading now (here is an example comment feed). Of course, this “feature” is invisble to most if not all of my [human] readers, but this feature can be used by aggregation services and feed readers alike to facilitate the reading of comments made on my weblog using third party tools.

It was an incredibly simple extension to implement, and I wouldn’t be surprised if pretty soon I released an Atom Syndication plugin for Movable Type that will allow users to more easily take advantage of these cool features and extensions without having to wade through template files and a bunch of XML.
