Byrne http://www.majordojo.com/ Not too long ago TypePad lost a race with trying to move to a new data center because our old data center had literally run out of power. We had tons of rack space, just no juice. Nada. Nothing. It was a sad state of affairs. So we had to find a new home and fast, because we were rapidly outgrowing the space we had. Long story short: we lost the race. The growing popularity of the service started straining the servers, performance suffered big time and we started having outages. Ever since we hear reports of customers leaving TypePad for WordPress citing TypePad’s performance for the reason of their departure from the award winning service. The irony is that WordPress.com’s performance is actually worse than TypePad’s, shown by this very interesting performance graph.
