Before finishing my port of Cutline I got distracted by another one of my favorite WordPress themes: 2813, whose credits are relatively complicated, "Designed by Eli Foner and Paul Stamatiou. Optimized by Neil Patel," and began a port of it to use on my own blog. And that is what I am using now.

And since a number of other members of the ProNet community were interested in using 2813 for their own blogs and/or projects, I thought I would make my work available to general public now that it is complete. Thanks to the original designer for allowing me to port this design for use across Movable Type, TypePad and LiveJournal.

The great thing about 2813 is that is requires no images, just a single CSS file. Download 2813 now.

Regarding your port of the theme 2813 to Typepad: can you get Typepad to do that thing where posts in category A appear in the main column whilst posts in category B appear in the smaller, second column? This is something that I have been looking for but can't work out myself.

Thanks, Glenn.

I love the 2183 theme and I particularly like the functionality that Eli added originally. By this I mean where the two columns display posts from different categories. I really want to do this on my blog but I just don't think Typepad allows me to. Can you think of anyway to hack the Main Index Template so that display is split over the two columns?

You've converted the theme for Typepad, so I wondered if you had considered this.

I don't really know the MT markup (or that much CSS) but I'm learning fast!

Thanks, Glenn.

The 2813 style for Movable Type and TypePad is pure CSS and is not capable of adding behavior in the same way that WordPress themes are capable of. This dramatically simplifies installation and maintenance, but at the expense of functionality.

A Movable Type installation could simulate similar behaviors to the original WP theme, but TypePad does not have the same flexibility.
