Congrats to my friend Justine on what looks to be another awesome documentary film. Paper or Plastic follows several contestants on their journey to Las Vegas for none other than the National Best Bagger Championship.

Is a new documentary film genre emerging around obscure competitions that undoubtedly leave viewers with both a dazed bewilderment that such a competition even exists and an appreciation for the people who have such a unique passion? I for one loved Word Wars about competitive Scrabble and Word Play about competitive Crossword puzzlers. And how could you not love Spell Bound about the National Spelling Bee?

Now if only someone would create a documentary about the most obscure contest of them all: Cup Stacking.
