This is the initial release of a much improved PMI. Many many changes have been introduced since the alpha. The original alpha version of this product was tailored much-too-much for my own workplace. This version has been substantially reworked to be much more independent. In addition, a plethora of new features have been added, including:
- added project and category watch lists enabling any user to "watch" content areas that interest them
- new directory feature - documents are now stored in a directory (much like dmoz.org). Any user can add a document to the repository removing the burden on the administrator. Users can browse the contents of directory as well, making it easier for them to find the information they want
- made the whole thing more project (vs release) centric. Now projects, as well as releases, have dash boards.
- cleaned up the release dashboard
- overall better navigation
- made installation easier and less error prone by making all of the components more dependent, by using relative links throughout so that the PMI can be installed anywhere on a site.
- cleaned up database schema
- better and cleaner Bugzilla integration which is much more configurable
0.9alpha - March 26, 2002
This is the initial release of the PMI. It is very rough and will probably not work for most people. I still have to do a lot of documentation and so forth.
- 3/28/2002, Updated INSTALL.txt again (it now includes prereq of php_users; I also went through the code some more hopefully to clean up some of the remaining issues. I still need to fix all the bread crumb trails and such. lots of broken links... v0.9a2
- 3/27/2002, Updated the INSTALL.txt file with instructions (note, these still need to be tested
