Could it be? Yes it be.

Most of the bugs and issues have been worked out of Media Manager, thanks to a dedicated and devoted group of testers. I would like to thank Thomas Mitchel especially who has helped me by reporting countless bugs. We email each other many times a day as we search for root cause on bugs he and others have reported. Major props to him.

So now that the major and many of the minor bugs have been fixed and verified, I think it is time to start the road to release. Therefore, Media Manager Beta 12 is officially Release Candidate 1. Thank god.

Enjoy. And by all means, please continue to report bugs and I will continue to fix them. Change log follows...

Change Log

  • Fixed two CSS bugs in the toolbar which caused issues with Safari. (thank you Jamison)
  • Added ability to edit the titles that are displayed in your weblog.
  • Fixed bug where published reviews did not show artist, author or manufacturer properly.
  • Fixed bug where MediaManagerItems tag did not properly sort results in ascending or descending order.
  • Added MediaManagerRandomItem template tag to return a random item on your queue that matches the constraints provided.
  • Fixed bug in next and previous links in search results.

Byrne, I'm having a weird error. On my personal blog -- http://www.planethuff.com/dana/ my "Currently Reading" information is showing up correctly, but on my classroom blog -- http://www.huffenglish.com/class/ -- the "What are We Reading" information is not pulling up the image. I have gone over the template code several times, and I can't figure it out. Do you have any idea what it could be that I'm doing wrong?

I upgraded from an early beta (probably 4) to the Release Candidate, and now everything is just screwy. I'd like to do a clean uninstall and re-install. What should I backup - I'm not sure where my database is..

Byrne,

I still can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. My books appear to be in the queue, but none of them are showing up. At my http://www.huffenglish.com/class/ blog, there is an odd little blue link that links back to my own blog instead of the book. It looks almost like it might be a problem with MT Amazon tags, but I followed your directions, and my tags look like the ones in your sample.

Byrne, I'm just getting started with your plugin and so far, it seems like I might find it useful for my site. However, I'm running into one major problem, and that is your plugin keeps "breaking out" of the AdminCGIPath into the CGIPath. I use SSL to secure the backend MT admin site traffic, and once I enter into Media Manager, it breaks out of SSL back into straight http traffic. I cannot find why this is.

Any suggestions?

Byrne, Are you aware of anyone that has succesfully installed Media Manager on Windows. My Current Working Directory and MT Home Directory are the same and I've installed MTAmazon32 and Media Manager. Both appear on my Plugin page and I've set the correct permissions. However, when I click on the Edit Media Queue button I'm presented with a blank screen.

My other plug-ins all work correctly now and I would LOVE to get Media Manager up and running!

Thanks, -Brett
