Stabs in the dark: Beta 11
I got a lot of good bug reports from users, but I was unable to reproduce a lot of them. (Remember, you can never provide too much detail in a bug report!). In any event, I developed a lot of theories for the bugs, went to the suspected areas in the code, saw things that looked a little suspicious, tweaked them, and verified everything still worked.
I guess it is possible that I fixed some of these issues. If not, tsk tsk. But if I did, then Beta 11 should be instrumental to people.
Please let me know if this release fixes any of the problems any of you have reported. If not, be nice. And be patient. We will fix all issues prior to launch.
Change Log
This release contains many stabs in the dark at several users have reported having. I cannot say for sure if this release fixes these issues as I have been unable to reproduce them. There issue(s) are:
- Sporatic showing or hiding of Media Manager HTML blogs to show the image within a review. To fix I have modified the line in post_load which strips the HTML from the post after loading (I should do this for the posting UI only).
The following is a list of changes and specific things I verfied as functional. Because so few bugs I could reproduce, some of the "stabs in the dark" mentioned above could have resolved the following issues.
- Verified that HTML code is retained for dynamically published blogs
- Moved blog-left-nav.tmpl to alt-tmpl permanently. Removed redundant file.
- Started populating the tmpl parameter mmscript_url.
- Removed "Review" tab from Edit Entry screen.
- Added "edit reiew" link/button on list view for the media manager table.
- Verified QuickPost or Bookmarklet's work.
- Verified dynamic publishing works.
- Verified compatibility with mt-rebuild.pl.
- Fixed bug in how the finished_on date was loaded and sometimes saved. Made sure it was not getting clobbered at several points.
Known Issues
- Media Manager is flaky on Internet Explorer - for example the review toolbar does not work in IE.
- There is no Media Manager template tag support for dynamic publishing

Comments
In compact mode. If you enter the finish on date and update, it will show up in the list, but if you go back in and enter again, it will will disappear and if you don't re enter it, it will clobber it. It works fine in the expanded mode.
Ready - My pictures still don't show up. Static pages is how my site is set up. I even have built a test site that has the latest 3.2 templates, and it has the same problem. I don't know if there is some debug mode we can turn on to try and track this down or not? If I rebuild the site they come back fine.

Strike the picture comment, it seems to be working just fine this afternoon. :)

I'm just wondering if it is already being looked at or if in the future it would be possible to edit the titles of the items in your queue. Now that items are being locally stored in tables, it would be nice to be able to cut off all the superfluous descriptive crap that Amazon adds onto their titles.

I upgraded from Beta 8 to Beta 11. It says I have no items in my Book Queue. I haven't rebuilt my site, so presumably that's why you can see the items under "currently reading." Just wondering why this would be and if there's a way to fix it besides manually re-adding all those items to the queue.
Thanks for all the work you're doing on this, Byrne. This is a great plugin.

Dana,
Did you get prompted for an upgrade? You should have. Hmmm. Beta 9 was a HUGE release and requires users to migrate data to a new database structure. It facilitates an automatic upgrade process.
Here is what I would recommend:
1) Back up your database if you can. Just to be safe. 2) Enter in http://YOURMTROOT/plugins/MediaManager/install.cgi?blog_id= 3) Follow the instructions.
That should kick off the process to create the necessary tables and migrate your BookQueueToo data into Media Manager tables.
I do not officially advise this, but I have installed and re-installed Media Manager through the process above countless times while testing. I suffered no data loss to the original dataset. Re-installing Media Manager through install.cgi will cause your data in the "upgraded" version to be cleared, however. Just follow the instructions and make a backup to be safe. :)

Ryan,
Your wish is my desire. Beta 12 will have editable titles.

Well if you are into wishes today, then it would be nice if you could pump that title into the title of the review, when we first create it. Obviously when we edit it, we don't want it.
