To use Sidebar Manager, visit your weblog’s administrative homepage in Movable Type. Then click the link that says, “Reorder My Sidebar.” The first time you access Sidebar Manager, it will automatically install a set of standard Movable Type sidebar widgets based upon MT default templates. Once you have accessed Sidebar Manager, select a name for your sidebar, and then proceed to select, install and reorder the widgets on your sidebar. Then click “Save Changes.”

Now, in your templates where you would like to insert your sidebar, add the following MT tag:

<$MTSidebar name="Main Index Sidebar"$>

You can create as many sidebar as you want: one for the left and right columns found on your main index page, one for your category archives, and one for you individual archives. Just reference your sidebar by name within the MTSidebar template tag and you are all set. The plugin will do the rest and insert all of the widgets you selected, and in the order you placed them into your published weblog.
